Bill began playing guitar
and singing at the age of 7 in his hometown, West Columbia
, TX. Playing the guitar came natural to a boy whose father was a musician. After
buying his first bicycle with money he made at 7 years old playing music, he
knew that this was what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. After
graduating from high school in 1973, his fellow students attended various
colleges but Bill attended the school of “hard knocks: in the music business.
From home town area bands to all major metro areas of Texas
(San Antonio
, Dallas, Houston, Etc.), Bill worked his way to the top of the bottom. After living in Dallas
& San Antonio, the next step was to relocate to
Nashville
, TN., where he began a new career at the bottom of the top. It wasn’t long
after relocating to Nashville that he gained recognition as an accomplished
guitarist & began to use his talents in studios throughout Nashville &
landed a prestigious position playing guitar with several Grand Ole’ Opry
stars. Bill played with Jean Shepherd, Porter Wagoner, & Stonewall Jackson
to mention a few. After thirteen years at the Grand Ole’ Opry, he made the
decision to follow the calling on his life to serve God. He returned to
Texas
to start his new life (full circle). Bill is now playing & singing as well
as preaching the Gospel at different churches and events. He is an accomplished
song writer having written many gospel/Christian songs that you hear on his CD
entitled “The Crossroad”. Bill has been performing for almost three years at
the Lake Theatre in Lake Jackson
, TX. every Friday & Saturday night. He performs country as well as his
Christian music. Due to many requests by the audience, he is now working on a
country/blues CD.
